5 Ways to Soothe Acid Reflux

So we all know the story, you have a few drinks with the girls at the weekend, or you decide to have that bar of chocolate as a treat. Then the next morning the symptoms start. The burning in your stomach, the sour taste in your mouth and the nausea. It can be really inconvenient at the best of times but there are loads of things which you can eat or drink to try to combat and reduce the symptoms.
Below are my 5 ways which help me the most:
  1. Chewing Gum - Chewing gum is fantastic for acid reflux because it stimilates your salivary glands which helps to nutrilize any extra acid in your stomach. Plus if its garlic thats triggered your reflux, it'll make your breath smell better!
  2. Aloe Vera - Now this stuff is used to treat burns, imagine what it does to your insides. Due to the soothing effects that the plant has, its perfect for nutralizing the acid in your stomach.
3. Banana - They contain Anti-Acids which can help to soothe the burn. They have a PH of 5.6 so they are great for acid reflux suffers. I aim to eat at least 1/2 Bananas a day.
4. Ginger - Now Ginger is fantastic for a number of stomach problems, e.g Acid Reflux, Nausea and even can improve absorption of food. Just get some slices of ginger root and leave them in warm water for a few minutes.
5. Almonds - These magic little nuts are amazing for neutrilizing acids in your stomach. I would recommend trying to eat these as a snack throughout the day.

Love Lucy xoxo
