About Me

Hi!

My name is Lucy Jade. I am 25 years old and currently live in Coventry.

I have a degree in Food and Nutrition from University College Birmingham and I am graduating in September! I became interested in nutrition, health and how food can help repair the body over the past 4/5 years when I became ill myself. 

In October 2014, my daily routine became barely stomaching any food, any food I did eat would make me feel ill and my days went by as a blur. I found that I couldn't concentrate on things, I was tired all of the time, I lost over 2 stone and 2 dress sizes and my social life completely went out the window. 

It wasn't until about 2 months later I decided to go to the doctors, hoping it was just a virus or a bug that wouldn't shift. After being told it was just 'IBS/Acid reflux/in my head', I changed doctors and they finally helped me to discover that I have an intolerance to Gluten and I am lactose intolerant. Now, this wasn't ideal for me as I lived off bread, pasta and cheese. So my whole diet took a massive haul, and within a few weeks, I was feeling normal again! I slowly started to be able to stomach food again, I had so much more energy and I actually wanted to go outside and see people. 

I have now created a healthy relationship with food, and learning food and nutrition has really helped this. I feel like I am at a comfortable stage in my life and I am trying to accept my body doesn't react well to a bad diet and I need to take care of it as best I can. I used to be the girl that would go on nights out, drink all sorts until the early hours of the morning, eat whatever junk food I could find on the way home, have carby food to soak up the alcohol the next day and do the same thing again and again. I have changed my life for the better and my aim is to help others to do the same! 




I don't think I would have found the transition as simple if it wasn't for social media. Twitter and Instagram literally flooded my brain full of ideas and tips which I wanted to share. That's how I created this blog. I want to use my new nutrition knowledge to help people improve their relationship with food and get healthier! 

So that's basically me!
